Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

01

How many Tomatis sessions will I or my child need?

The number of sessions varies from person to person. The most effective format is usually an intensive program consisting of three 1.5 hour listening sessions per day over 10 consecutive days.

However, every individual’s situation and schedule are different. You can learn more on the Therapy options page, or feel free to contact me so we can discuss the plan that best suits your needs.

02

What can I do during 1,5 hour listening session?

During the session, you are encouraged to engage in calm, non verbal activities such as puzzles, board games, creative crafts, painting, or drawing.

Reading, writing, solving math tasks, eating, drinking, speaking, or using devices with screens such as tablets or phones is not recommended, as these activities may interfere with the therapeutic process.

Should I bring my own materials for activities during the listening sessions?

There is a wide selection of puzzles, board games, drawing and painting supplies, and toys available for both children and adults.

If you prefer to work on something personal such as knitting, crochet, or cross stitch, you are very welcome to bring it with you.

How much does it cost?

The therapy consists of several stages, which you can explore in more detail on the dedicated page. The total cost depends on the individual therapy plan we design together.

06

My child is on the autism spectrum, can this therapy help?

Studies indicate that approximately 60 to 80 percent of children on the autism spectrum show improvement, particularly when the program includes extended listening phases and voice work.

You can learn more about this approach on the Tomatis for children page, or feel free to contact me to discuss your child’s individual situation.

07

How can Tomatis therapy help my child?

Research shows that auditory stimulation based on Tomatis therapy can be especially beneficial for children with developmental delays, autism spectrum conditions, certain genetic conditions, brain injury, and school or learning difficulties.

You can read more on the dedicated page for children. If you do not find the information you are looking for, please feel free to contact me to discuss your child’s specific needs.

This therapy is often most effective when used as a complementary approach alongside other appropriate interventions.

08

I’m experiencing burnout, can this therapy help?

Research suggests that auditory stimulation used in Tomatis therapy may support recovery from burnout, stress related exhaustion, anxiety, and inner tension. It can also be beneficial for people experiencing lingering post-COVID symptoms.

Why is Tomatis therapy recommended for pregnant women?

After the passing of Professor Alfred Tomatis, his work developed in different directions. Sonus Vitae is part of the Mozart Brain Lab network, which continues his original clinical orientation and technical standards.

Although modern portable devices for home use are available today, the therapy I provide is delivered with advanced professional grade equipment. This technology includes multiple adjustable parameters and precise sound modulation that cannot be replicated by portable or wireless devices.

You can read more about this on the Tomatis therapy page, or feel free to contact me if you have specific questions.
