During pregnancy, a mother’s emotional state and sensory environment deeply influence the development of the baby. Tomatis therapy uses specially modulated music – including filtered recordings of the mother’s voice – to create a calming, harmonious internal environment.
The auditory stimulation facilitates childbirth and reduces anxiety.
– Klopfenstein & D’Orthy studies
Research has shown
- Reduced anxiety and stress during pregnancy;
- Shorter and more comfortable labor (average labor time reduced by nearly 1 hour in clinical studies);
- Better adaptation of the newborn, with higher APGAR
scores and slightly higher birth weight;
- Enhanced maternal-fetal bonding, improving early attachment.
APGAR stands for appearance (skin color), pulse (heart rate), grimace response (reflexes), activity (muscle tone), respiration (breathing effort). It’s a quick test done on a baby at 1 and 5 minutes after birth to assess their health and ability to adapt outside the womb. Scores range from 0 to 10. A higher score indicates better overall health.
